Reward Yourself With Professional Development

03B cpd

Are you looking to update your continuing professional development points or just interested in experiencing one of eClassroom’s most popular talks? Support the Keep Architecture Open 2018 campaign and you’ll learn all about the iconic French architect ‘Jean Nouvel’ and gain 3 formal CPD points.

Jean Nouvel heads an international architectural practice, yet his architecture is sensitive and poetic and speaks to the subtlety of each specific site. In this Australian Architectural Association Black Talk 5, Nouvel describes his architectural journey from his first architectural encounter at the Beaux-Arts School, in Bordeaux, in the 1960s, to his recent and current projects. This journey explains the foundation and history behind Nouvel’s architectural ideologies and provides a basis for understanding his designs for buildings such as The Arab World Institute in Paris, The Cartier Foundation in Paris and Agbar Tower in Barcelona.

Reward Yourself With An Original Artwork

Support the continued operations of the Australian Architecture Association and own an original artwork by Australian artist Craig Couzens.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The limited edition print ‘The Three Sirens’ is drawn from tales of old. ‘The Odyssey’ describes how Homer could only safely navigate past the Island of Desire by being tied to the mast while covering the ears of his crew. Only then was he able to resist the enchanted song of seduction. Unlike the legendary Sirens modern woman has shed her wings, but the siren’s song of enchantment remains. Man’s desire has little defence against the wiles of the temptress.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Craig Couzens is an emerging print artist based in the regional NSW city Wagga Wagga.

Passionate about elevating the profile of fine art printing, his work is produced using archival inks and paper.

Craig’s work has been exhibited in a number of public group shows, as well as in successful solo exhibitions in 2017 and 2018. His work is included in numerous private collections in NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Queensland.
