SHORT BLACK TALK: ARCHITECTS IN THEIR SPACE - JOHN WARDLE ARCHITECTS & NADAAA - MELBOURNE SCHOOL OF DESIGN
Don't miss out on tickets for the first Short Black: Architects In Their Space talk to be hosted by the Australian Architecture Association's Melbourne chapter. On the evening of Wednesday 25 March architect John Wardle presents the Melbourne School of Design, the University of Melbournes' newest addition to its campus.
Following an international design competition, John Wardle Architects in collaboration with the Boston-based practice NADAAA, were appointed to design the new building for the Melbourne School of Design. Completed toward the end of 2014, this building has been awarded a 6 Star Green Star Design - Education Design V1 Rating by the Green Building Council of Australia. Sited in the centre of the University of Melbourne campus, the building sets a new standard for design education in the Asia-Pacific region, and will become a destination for design communities and events.
John Wardle said, 'Far from creating a singular building, our endeavour has been to provide a place for learning and research that in itself illustrates an abundance of possibilities for students to consider when responding to demands of complex problems'.
