This month's NSW At Home With the Architect visits the inner west of Sydney to explore a renovation designed by Connor + Solomon Architects. The former butchers shop converted to a terrace residence, is located in a conservation area of Birchgrove and combines heritage elements with striking modernist inspired contemporary design.
The alterations and additions to residence were completed in 2015 and included extensions at lower ground, ground and the first floor, as well as the construction of a new verandah to the front facade and swimming pool in the rear.
The co-directors of Connor + Solomon Architects, Paul Connor and Anthony Solomon, formed their architectural partnership in 1996. Their small practice combines the talents of experienced professionals, design graduates and students offering skills in graphic presentation, sustainable design, master planning and interior design.
Explore the interiors and exteriors of the Birchgrove House and be inspired by the architect as they explain how the design was conceptualised and executed.
