This month the Australian Architecture Association's Open House series, 'At Home With The Architect', explores a new residential precinct in Dulwich Hill, master planned by Smart Design Studio.
'Arlington Grove', developed by the Galileo Group, consists of 246 well-planned apartments arrayed around a series of courtyards and lanes. With a mix of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments associated amenities such as a cafe, access to a greenway and Arlington tram line, Arlington Grove is a great example of the growing trend for higher density living in the inner west of Sydney.
Established in 1997, Smart Design Studio is a multi-discipline design studio of 35 plus staff offering professional services in architecture, interior architecture and design. Smart Design Studio's portfolio includes master-planning for urban centres, multi-unit residential developments, private dwellings, retail and commercial fitouts, as well as product design.
William Smart is the founder and Creative Director of Smart Design Studio and is directly involved in every project, contributing at all stages from design to final delivery. His buildings have received critical acclaim, many prestigious awards and have been widely published in architectural and other publications.
